Milan are reportedly keen to pick up Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi this summer from Villarreal. Rossi, who has otherwise been linked with Napoli, is widely considered to be available for transfer this summer, after his team’s relegation in Spain to the Segunda Division.
However, still recovering from knee ligament damage, the player is unavailable for selection until February 2013. Even so, the Corriere dello Sport understand that Milan are in talks with the Spanish over a possible deal and are offering an initial €7m to take the 25-year-old. This is then to be followed up with a bonus structure totalling a further significant sum. However, it is believed that Villarreal are keen for at least €11m up front, followed by a large bonus scheme.
