Shandong: Shandong Luneng ensured they remain in the hunt for a place in the last 16 of the 2011 AFC Champions League with a convincing 5-0 win over Arema Indonesia at Shandong Sports Centre.

Deng Zhuoxiang opened the scoring midway through the first-half of the Group G clash and the hosts never looked back as further goals from Obina (Manoel de Brito Filho), substitute Han Peng, Murehemaitijiang Mozhapa and Wang Yongpo completed a comfortable afternoon for the Chinese side.

Shandong created the first clear-cut chance after 13 minutes when Wang Liang completed a one-two with Lu Zheng before delivering a cross that found Deng but his powerful header hit a defender in front of the Arema goal.

Deng continued to worry goalkeeper Aji Saka, collecting a pass from Obina before striking a 30-yard drive over the crossbar.

Obina thought he opened the scoring soon after when he headed Wang Yongpo's corner goalwards but Saka produced a reflex save to parry it away.

The visitors then came close to a first goal in the 19th minute when Zulkifli Syukur clipped a well-timed pass across the face of the goal and Yongki Aribowo was only inches away from tapping home.

Shandong kept the Arema players under pressure and broke the deadlock five minutes later.

Lu’s cross from the right deflected off Obina at the near post and the ball fell at the feet of the oncoming Deng, who calmly stabbed home from five yards.

Shandong continued to harass the opposition defence but Arema managed to get numbers behind the ball and keep the hosts at bay.

It was not until one minute before the break that Shandong increased their lead when Obina latched onto Lu’s cross at the near post before unexpectedly back-heeling the ball past a bemused Saka.

The home side looked determined to add to their tally as they intensified their attacking play at the beginning of the second-half.

Wang Yongpo's shot was blocked by Leonard Tupamahu on the goal-line six minutes after the restart while Obina spurned a good chance, steering a close-range effort wide two minutes later.

Han then added the third in the 70th minute, just 10 minutes after replacing Obina. The striker beat the offside trap to latch onto Deng’s smart pass before sliding the ball past Saka when one-on-one with the keeper.

Wang Yongpo then set up a close-range effort for Mozhapa, whose first attempt was blocked by Sunarto but the youngster fired the follow-up past Saka to net his first goal in the continental tournament.

Wang Yongpo then completed the rout for the home side, collecting a good pass from Han before turning and firing home from 10 yards.
