Blink-182 have been given a deadline of July 31 by their record company to finish their long awaited new album.
Last month the San Diego trio were forced to postpone their summer UK arena tour to complete work on the follow-up their 2003 self-titled album.
"When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have the new album out before the summer," they said in a statement on April 18. "Turns out we were mistaken as the album is taking longer than we thought and won't be out till later this year."
Speaking to US magazine Rolling Stone, drummer Travis Barker said Blink will "use every single day" until the deadline to make sure the album is finished.
Singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge added that Blink have become increasingly inspired over the past few weeks, and have written a whole bunch of new songs for the record.
"We thought we were closing in on the end, and literally a week ago we pumped out a whole set of stuff that I think will be some of the best on the album," said DeLonge. "Recording is never really finished. You slide or limp into home base."
