Military Aircraft Boeing 707 crashes in California

A military plane Boeing 707 crashed in Point Mugu Navy base, California, United States, during take off. The plane was immediately burned. Military aircraft was carrying about 150 thousand pounds of fuel and three crew.

The three flight crew managed to escape. All three were taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. The three crew consists of pilot, copilot and navigator.


Said Ventura County Fire Department as reported by the Los Angeles Times on Thursday (05/19/2011).

The firefighters aided by a helicopter are working to extinguish the huge fire that occurred Wednesday, May 18 evening local time.

The incident comes as Boeing is trying to take off from the main runway at Point Mugu. It is said Vance Vasquez, a spokesman for Point Mugu base, when to take off, the plane skidded out of control.

As a result of fire, thick black smoke visible and can be seen soaring up to miles and miles away.
