Mazda RX-8 Spirit R Limited Edition

Mazda will end production of the RX-8 sports car without any other replacement, which means end was the only vehicle production in the world to utilize a rotary engine.

But Mazda did not want to just let these vehicles disappeared. Hiroshima Japanese car manufacturer announced it will be the presence of the Mazda RX-8 Spirit R that will be sold exclusively in Japan from 24 November to mark the end of this model.


The figure of the status of special edition vehicles from Mazda RX-8 is planned to be made in limited quantities only 1,000 units. Spirit R RX-8 is built on the model of the RX-8 RS 6-speed manual transmission.

As in late-generation Mazda RX-7 limited edition is equipped with a variety of different features, Spirit R RX-8 also experienced the same thing with stylish features such as exclusive Recaro seats and alloy velek whitewash special color.

An exclusive set as well through a special emblem, the main light shades of dark, red brake calipers and additional airbags in the upper window (curtain airbags) and on the side (side airbags).

Mazda asserts that the production RX-8 will be officially terminated in June next year. But a bright hopes were raised by Mazda CEO Takashi Yamanouchi when announcing the presence of the Mazda RX-8 Spirit R.

He said although the production of the Mazda RX-8 ends, a rotary engine will always be the spirit of Mazda and Mazda is committed to re-develop and build these machines. Yamanouchi statement indicating that the fate of a rotary-engine cars from Japan has not really ended
