Wikileaks Bunker



Servers

When wikileaks began releasing its trove of classified U.S. state department cables, the material was hosted by swedish internet service provider Bahnhof, whose Pionen White Mountain data storage facility is located in a former world war II bunker.











Entrance 

The facility is located 100 feet below a park in downtown stockholm.














Cavern

When the facility was redesigned, the architecs who re-craftes the space drew inspiration from the futuristic James Bond sets of the 1960s.














Back Up Plan

Two gold German submarine engines serve as emergency back up generators.

Above the main server room is a suspended glass corridor and a round see-through meeting room.

Office Space

In order to soften life in the subterranean workspace, the company has decorated heavily with naturalistic elements like plants, artificial waterfalls and a fish tank.













Panoramic

Wikileaks holds the rights to a number of a domain names registered in different countries, so it has many mirror sites. Since authorities in sweden are prohibited from making inquiries about story sources, the country is an ideal location for the storing the controversial trove documents.
